Why this podcast & blog?

I started the podcast in 2014 with a focus on aging, caregiving, advanced planning, and end-of-life (aka death). After 38 shows, all of which feature a fascinating guest, I began to notice a change in me. I started asking hard questions of myself.

  • How would I live if I knew I only had six months left?
  • What changes would I make to my career, my relationships, my everyday choices?
  • Where would I like to travel? Who would I like to meet?
  • What peak life experiences do I envision enjoying but have yet to pursue? What are my dreams?
  • What fears prevent me from living my dream now?

Answering those questions led me to make some important changes, to myself and to the show. Our circumstances can change in an instant...so now is the time to start living, to start dancing, for we know not what tomorrow will bring.

"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." John Lennon

I didn't want that to happen to me. Death urged me to shift gears, to take more risks, and to be proactive about how my life was unfolding in the second half.

Today the show, and all the writings, focus on how to live, how to design life in the second half so the rest of our lives are the best of our lives.

Every show features a guest qualified to help us design the life we really want...the one that answers the deepest call of our souls.

If your dream doesn't scare you, then it's too small.
